OMG! An episode of PKJ that doesn't suck. It started off okay, with Jane, Mo and Riley at a tattoo parlor, heading home after a night of drinking. Then it took a turn into real suspense territory, just around the time the credits came on screen. This is what I was hoping PKJ would be like all along.

The scenes following Jane waking up at the hospital, restrained, then finding out her team mates have turned against her are pretty effective, some of the best dramatic moments on the show so far. Jane is told that she killed Riley, that she's a neuro but can't be chipped. The writers keep raising the tension. Then Maureen and Jane interact like they're actually close friends. I'd missed that since the first ep.

For once everybody used their heads. It was pretty much all good until they get the neuro.

It was pretty odd how Jane gave both Connor and Riley big hugs and even patted McBride's shoulder (no hug, thank you!), but there was absolutely no touching between her and Mo at any time. It's got to be deliberate, but felt strange by contrast.

I'm just going to ignore the annoying voiceover and clumsy explanations in the last few minutes of the show. Why did these even rate screen time, I don't know. I think after we got the shot of Maureen's back wihtout the tatto and saw Jane use her credit card, we all knew she was on to the neuro. There was really no need for all the post mortem. Instead, what we needed was some rebonding time between Jane and Mo.

Fashion report: Kristanna looks mighty fine in jeans and leather jacket in this ep. In the scene at the gas station when she fills her car up then gets in the car and starts to drive, she just looks so butch. And at the same time *so* pretty. The mind boggles.

Amazing, no? I just posted about this at my page as well. I actually really enjoyed this episode, and was interested in what would happen. Also, none of the characters bugged me (while except for McBride, because him just existing bugs me)

Word. I'm worried it might be too late for some though. My mom say two of the better episodes of the show, and was like "This PKJ isn't that great is it?" and my mom genuinely enjoyed 7th Heaven (don't judge her, she's a nice person, lol)

but there was absolutely no touching between her and Mo at any time. It's got to be deliberate, but felt strange by contrast.

I'm thinking it really has to be deliberate at this point. It's almost as conspicuous as the lack of Spencer/Ashley touching last season of SoN. It's like the creators or whoever are trying to avoid the whiff of gay between Jane and Mo like the plague. But friendships are important to character development and character dynamics, and they're hurting the show by avoiding it. I mean, Grey's Anatomy has the women sleep in bed together and nobody freaks. I don't think a hug between Jane and Mo would be the of the world. You'd think they'd allowed Kristanna and Alaina to touch one episode and the film exploded from the hotness of it or something.

I know. Jane is so butchy mcfabulous. Seriously, they don't need to dress Kristanna up. The woman rocks, jean, hoodies, and leather jackets like nobodies business. Just let Jane be casual at work. She's sooooo hot, when she's dressed down. And I like the ponytail, hair pulled back on Jane with the casual look. Sooooo pretty.

Totally. Trying to make his relationship with Jane more special than her relationship with Mo is just not working, and another example of someone in this show's PTB just not thinking right. Don't they have reviews and people supervising to make sure things the tone is right etc...? I can't believe that these people are even a little bit TV/movie literate and thinking that some of these decisions are okay.
One thing I noticed during the credis this time is that Alaina Huffman is credited second and McBride is credited as "and with so and so as Andre McBride" which should really put the scope of his character to about what Skinner was in the X-Files which would be about right. Has that always been the case?

my mom genuinely enjoyed 7th Heaven (don't judge her, she's a nice person, lol)

My gf likes these types of shows and I am quite fond of her, esp since she tolerates my love of shows with guns and girls who kick ass. So no worries :).

So true. *sobs*

Grey's Anatomy has the women sleep in bed together and nobody freaks.

Just one of the reasons I like that show. Shonda Rimes kicks butt. She's my hero. Why aren't there more women of color ruling all in hollywood?

You'd think they'd allowed Kristanna and Alaina to touch one episode and the film exploded from the hotness of it or something.

It's so cruel and unusual. They would be so hot together. Why deny us?

So true. She totally won me over with the butchiness this episode. Please Kristanna just focus on the acting and let someone else produce and crank the tv shows out. Not looking for anything incredible. But let's make it at least as watchable as Mortal Kombat, pretty please?
